Christian Community Service Center
The Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) offers the following services in southwest and central Houston (Their primary service area is most of the Inner Loop, the Galleria area, the Gulfton area, and the Sharpstown/Fondren area.):
- Food Pantry: CCSC has two food pantry locations. They are located on 3434 Branard Street (central) and 6856 Bellaire (southwest). The pantry provides a 5-day supply of food.
- Clothing: Clients are able to select clothing items after an interview with a volunteer.
- Financial Assistance: Limited financial assistance is available by appointment only for help with rent and utilities. Assistance for medical needs such as prescriptions or eyeglasses are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Back to School program: This program serves students from pre-kindergarten through the 8th grade. Each child receives a package of grade-appropriate supplies and a voucher for a new uniform and/or shoes.
- Jingle Bell Express: Parents are allowed to “shop” for their children choosing one or two toys and books for each child. Registration occurs in early October and children up to age 15 are eligible.
- JobNet: This is a program designed to help clients find work. Clients are taught how to navigate the job market, resume development, computer literacy, and interview skills.
