Community Storehouse

In Fort Worth - Food and Shelter

The Community Storehouse offers the following programs:

  • Food Assistance Program:  Families in crisis can receive food throughout the year and additional food when their children are out of school during summer and holiday breaks. Case managers determine eligibility and how often each family receives food. Most families who go to them receive a food voucher straight away or are given an emergency box of food while their cases are processed.
  • Thanksgiving Food Distribution: Thanksgiving Distribution is the week before Thanksgiving.  The day of the event families receive food for the Thanksgiving Holiday along with a turkey or ham. Also, extra food for the time the children are out for the holiday is included.
  • Christmas House:  Christmas House takes place in December. This program is for children ages 0-18 years. Volunteers take the pre-registered parent around to “shop” for gifts for their children. The parent will leave with gifts for each child, fixings for a Christmas meal as well as extra food for the holiday break as they believe no child should go hungry during the holiday break.

*Please call for further information about each program.  Registration for holiday programs is often weeks or months prior to the date of distribution so be sure and call early.
