The Cornerstone Assistance Network (CAN) offers the following services:

  • Cornerstone Charitable Clinic:  The clinic provides free comprehensive medical care to uninsured adults. All clinic services are provided by licensed physicians and nurses who volunteer their time at the Cornerstone Clinic and are covered by liability insurance.  Medical students and clinic staff provide a wide variety of services to patients including: primary medical care, specialty care in neurology, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, radiology, gynecology, cardiology, and ophthalmology.  The CAN Cataract Clinic is the nation’s first free cataract facility for the uninsured. Volunteer physicians and ophthalmic staff have the ability to treat up to 10 patients per clinic day with the full support of Cornerstone’s trained medical staff. The Cataract Clinic gives hope and provides solutions for patients with loss of vision and no ability to pay for sight-restoring procedures. Thanks to the generosity of Alcon Pharmaceuticals, the Clinic provides all necessary equipment and medications needed by physicians and patients.  Cornerstone has a full fitness center that is accessible during clinic hours.  The gym is open to those who meet the Charitable Clinic’s eligibility criteria for a small fee of $10 a month.
  • Housing:  Their current housing division includes 3 distinct avenues to sustained living.  The New Life Center offers housing for men who have faced homelessness.  The Promise House is for women who are being released from incarceration.  CAN’s homeownership program has included both new and remodeled single family homes and condominiums.
