Habitat for Humanity-Baton Rouge

 In Baton Rouge - Housing

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge serves families through 2 programs: the homeownership program and the critical home repair program.

  • Selection for the homeownership program is based on financial need, ability to pay a monthly mortgage (this is not a free program–you must be able to pay a monthly mortgage), willingness to partner (you must assist with the construction of your home), and you must be a Louisiana resident.  Please see the website for information regarding income limits and the application process.
  • The Critical Home Repair program helps low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and struggle to maintain the integrity of their homes. Through Critical Home Repair they are able to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.  Habitat’s work through the Critical Home Repair Program will include handicap accessibility modifications (wheelchair ramps, grab bars, and handrails), roof repair, minor floor repair, and other health and safety home repairs.  Please see the website for eligibility information.
