Lord of the Streets-Houston

Lord of the Streets offers the following services:

• Direct Assistance:  This program offers a day shelter, emergency clothing and hygiene items, food, and a mailing address at which to receive mail.  They also offer assistance with getting a Texas ID and birth certificate, homeless verification letters, applications for the Harris Health System and food stamps, referrals for other community resources, METRO bus pass with a verifiable appointment, and use of a telephone.
• Free vision and medical clinic:  The clinic offers primary care services, well-women services, pediatric exams, immunizations, psychiatry and behavioral health, HIV/AIDS testing, and prescriptions.  The clinic takes insurance or can sign people up for insurance.  You should get to the clinic by 8 am to sign up for services.
