The Family Place
The Family Place is here to empower you to escape from family violence and become a survivor. Whether the abuse you suffer is physical, emotional, verbal or financial, we provide a safe place to heal and the counseling and resources you need to start down the path to independence. All services are free and offered in English and in Spanish.
EMERGENCY SHELTER
The Family Place has three emergency shelters, including the state’s only shelter for men and children, providing safety, counseling and emergency assistance. On-site services include:
- Crisis counseling for adults and children
- Medical and dental care
- Early childhood education, K-2 school and after-school and summer programs for children
- Job, technical and life skills training for adults
- Animal shelter for dogs and cats
We provide long-term housing, education and training to help victims rebuild their lives in 24 on-site and 10 off-site apartments at our Safe Campus and off-site apartments.
The Family Place Supportive Living Program provides extended-stay apartments on our Safe Campus and off site as well as subsidized housing, education, training, early childhood education, K-2 school and after-school and summer programs to give victims the time and resources to build new lives.
LEGAL SERVICES
The Family Place provides on-site attorneys for clients in cooperation with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas.
