This center provides mental health services for adults and children 3-17 years of age.  They also provide intellectual disability and Autism services to any Harris County resident who is at least 3 years of age.  The Harris Center’s Southwest Children’s Clinic is located at 9401 Southwest Freeway, 4th floor, Houston, 77074, from 7:30 am-3:00 pm on Monday-Friday.  Adults may visit any of The Harris Center’s four outpatient clinics from 7:30 am-3:00 pm on Monday-Friday.  The clinics are located at:

  • Northwest Community Service Center, 3737 Dacoma, 77092
  • Northeast Community Service Center, 7200 North Loop East Freeway, 77028
  • Southwest Community Service Center, 9401 Southwest Freeway, 3rd floor, 77074
  • Southeast Community Service Center, 5901 Long Drive, 77087

*Adults on parole or probation may visit the New START Clinic located at 6032 Airline Drive, 77076

The centers do not schedule appointments but take adults and children on a walk-in basis.  Walk-ins are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Screening for eligibility requires proof of Harris County residency, proof of income, proof of insurance, and personal identification (if available).  The centers do accept uninsured and underinsured clients.  During the initial appointment each client will meet with a professional to discuss their financial status.  A client’s fees for service will be determined by their income.
Adult services include medication management, counseling, employment-related services, and housing-related skills training.   Services for children and adolescents include mental health assessment, medication management, case management, parent skills training, and crisis management.
