Dumas Wesley Community Center
Dumas Wesley Community Center offers the following programs:
- The Center has a transitional housing program called the Sybil H. Smith Family Village (SSFV). SSFV seeks to help families experiencing homelessness establish and maintain self-sufficiency. The program combines transitional housing for up to 24 months and is able to accommodate up to 17 families.
Basic eligibility criteria for admission into Sybil H. Smith Family Village are:
- Must be at least 24 years old,
- Must be homeless,
- Must have at least one child,
- Must be able to work and/or attend school (volunteer hours do not count),
- Must be drug and alcohol-free,
- Must be willing to live in a drug/alcohol-free environment (and take random drug tests), and
- Must be willing to participate in a case management plan.

- Dumas Wesley Community Center provides affordable summer recreation for neighborhood children between the ages of six to fifteen. The program features a variety of on-site activities, arts and crafts, field trips, swimming, educational programs and special events all summer long. The program operates from June through July, five days a week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Families living or working in the Crichton community (36607 zip code) are given first priority. If available, families living outside of the 36607 zip code may register on a first, come first served basis.
