Hawaii Meals on Wheels

Hawaii Meals on Wheels is dedicated to helping Oahu’s elders and individuals with disabilities preserve their independence at home. We do this primarily by providing hot, nutritious meals and regular personal interaction with those we serve.

Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, including all weekday holidays.

Each meal is prepared by an institutional kitchen under the supervision of a licensed dietitian and must meet 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance. A regular meal consists of a hot entree, a serving of vegetables, a serving of starch, dessert (often fruit), and milk or juice. Some special diets can be accommodated (e.g. diabetic, low sodium).

The full cost of a meal is $12.49. At the end of each month, clients are asked to contribute toward the cost of meals they received that month. While we encourage all clients to donate something toward the cost of their meals, we will not deny service to a client who is unable to afford the total cost of his/her meals. Client contributions are accepted by check, money order, cash, VISA/Mastercard, or food stamps.
