M. I. Lewis Social Service Center

The M.I. Lewis Social Service Center offers the following assistance programs:

  • Emergency Financial Assistance:  Assistance is offered for rent, utilities, and medicine.  Recipients must reside in the Dickinson Independent School District (ISD).
  • Food Assistance:  The food pantry gives food 6 times per year to individuals and families that qualify.  (An exception is sometimes made for low-income elderly individuals, single parents with young children, individuals who have no transportation, individuals who have just had an accident, and circumstances involving recent unemployment.  These individuals may qualify to receive 8-12 months of food assistance).  M.I. Lewis also hosts a food fair on the third Saturday of each month.  The fair lasts until 7 am–you must bring a photo ID, your own bags or boxes, and be 18 years or older.  M.I. Lewis will deliver groceries once per month to approved homebound seniors (60+).
