METRO-Houston
The METRO is the primary transit system for the city of Houston. The website is very helpful–it offers bus/rail schedules and fare prices. The METRO does offer a discount to college and university students. You can apply for this discount in three ways: online, by mail (print the “Student METRO Fare Card registration form” from the website, or visit the METRO RideStore (see address below). To qualify you must show the following: current class schedule and a tuition receipt, letter from Remington verifying you’re a current student, and the “Student METRO Fare Card registration form” signed and stamped by school registrar. To find the registration form go to the website and click on “Fares”, then “Student Fare Cards” on the left side of the screen. The METRO fare is $1.25–qualified students receive a 50% discount.
