DHA established the Phoenix Self-Sufficiency Foundation to encourage residents to further their education in college, trade or technical school. It provides financial assistance through 3  different scholarship types to DHA residents who are high school graduates or older students who choose college, trade or technical school. The CRYSTAL Awards Scholarship is for current high school and General Education Development (GED) students who are under 19 years of age.

Phoenix Scholarship (For returning college students who are at least in their second year of study)

Phoenix Rising Scholarship (For students who have been separated from an educational institution for more than two years and have completed the “Getting Started Again” workshop)
