  • Child Care Assistance, which is a component of the Child Care Services program, is designed to assist the “working poor” or full-time students with the cost of child care for a maximum of one (1) year. This program handles child care subsidies for income eligible parent(s). In addition, child care information, referrals, and workshops for parents/providers are offered.  Information is available by calling program staff at

  • Fresh Start Housing Assistance Programs:  These programs provide rental assistance and supportive services to homeless and at- risk of homelessness individuals and families, including ex-offenders. The program offers case management/ supportive services as the participants obtain and remain in stable housing.  The supportive services help participants increase skills and/or income, with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.Supportive services provided to program participants include assessing the needs of the individuals and/or families, monthly home visits and facilitating access to ancillary services such as health care, behavioral health care, housing placement, job training and placement, substance abuse treatment, food & transportation assistance.  Provides assistance with rent, utilities deposits, and supportive housing services up to 24 months to eligible households in the City of Dallas impacted by the  High Impact Landlord Initiative (HILI). If you have any questions, please call (214) 671-9950.  Go to website and click on “Fresh Start Housing Assistance Programs”.
