Providence House

The Providence House

The Providence House helps families address the root causes that leads to homelessness and ultimately moves them toward their highest level of self-sufficiency.

How We Help

  • Education
Providence House operates a 4-STAR Child Development Center (CDC) exclusively for homeless and low income children ages 0 to 4-years. Working to Learn is our full-time, adult HiSet/GED program. Adult residents have the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency diploma.
  • Housing
The “House” accommodates up to 27 families (80-people). With the support of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Shreveport and the city of Bossier City, Providence House manages up to 40 apartments throughout northwest Louisiana. Our goal is to get families housed rapidly and provide the necessary support to become self-sufficient.
  • Supportive Services
Providence House employs case managers, a licensed clinical professional counselor, a full-time dietary team and a full-time teaching staff. This team, along with administrative staff, provides a complement of supportive services including financial literacy, parenting and life skills classes, employment preparation and a workforce development program.
