The Montrose Center-Houston
The Montrose Center’s goal is to empower the Houston community, primarily lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and their families, to enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives. Services are available to all individuals regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The center offers the following services:
- Counseling: The center offers individual, couples/family, group therapy, and case management services. They accept all insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid. However, they will provide services on a sliding scale to those who are uninsured or are having financial difficulty. The center also has a program called WAY OUT Recovery which is specifically for individuals with substance abuse issues. A program for youth ages 13-20 is also provided.
- Crisis: The center provides crisis counseling and intervention 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

- HIV/AIDS assistance: The center offers housing assistance to those living with HIV/AIDS and are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They can assist with short-term mortgage assistance, short-term rental assistance, short-term utility assistance, extended rental assistance, and rent deposit assistance. You must meet with a case manager in order to access this assistance.
