Workforce Solutions offers the following services to residents of the Houston area:

Child care financial assistance: Due to limited funds parents applying for child care financial aid who are working or going to school will be added to a waitlist. The wait for assistance is estimated to be 12 months or longer so it is important to apply as soon as possible. Please see the website to print an application. To access the application click on the “For Individuals” tab and then the “Financial Aid for Child Care” tab. The website also offers a Parent Handbook which contains detailed information about the program. Assistance is offered to children who attend licensed child care centers, licensed/registered child care homes, and relative providers. Providers must be registered with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Workforce Solutions also provides some career services. For college students they offer assistance with finding scholarships, financial aid, and tutoring assistance. They also offer a listing of upcoming job fairs and other online resources.
