Youth Villages’ Programs:

Intensive in-home treatment:

The Intercept intensive in-home services program is an effective alternative treatment for children and youth who otherwise would be placed in foster care, residential treatment, detention centers, hospitals or other juvenile facilities. Diverting youth from these out-of-home placements, Intercept family intervention specialists provide guidance and treatment resources for youth and families in their own homes.

Residential treatment:

Youth Villages’ residential treatment programs serve boys and girls with serious to severe emotional and behavioral problems combined with other needs. Although placement criteria vary for each campus, the programs accept adolescents and teens with IQ scores of 45 or above. Almost 95% of those admitted have multiple presenting issues.

Our goal is to return children to a less restrictive environment to continue their progress through intensive in-home services, with their family when possible, or therapeutic foster care when it is not.

Adoption:

In Tennessee, the Youth Villages child adoption services partners with the state Department of Children’s Services to find permanent homes for the children in our care who have adoption as a goal.

Right now, dozens of Youth Villages kids in Tennessee are looking for adoption, ranging in age from five to 18. Profiles are available for many of the children eligible for adoption.

The children in our care who are available for adoption face special challenges. Most of them have suffered some emotional trauma in their childhood; many have suffered from abuse or neglect. Many of the children available for adoption have been in our foster care program for many years. Now, their birth parents’ rights have been severed, and they are ready to move from foster to forever homes.

They have received counseling and good care from us. To reach their full potential, all they need now is the kind of security that only a real family can provide.

Youth Villages offers an array of training, support and assistance to potential adoptive parents. Many adoptive parents also are eligible for continuing adoption subsidies from the state.

YVLifeSet:

Youth Villages’ YVLifeSet program is one of the largest in the country  helping former foster and transition-age youth become successful, independent adults. It is one of the only programs to show positive impacts in many areas of a young person’s life in a large randomized controlled trial. Youth Villages, through funding from Blue Meridian Partners, is committed to making comprehensive services available to each of the 23,000 young people who age out of foster care in the United States by 2026.

Specialized Crisis Services:

Specially trained crisis counselors are available 24 hours a day in Tennessee to respond to crises rapidly and effectively.

The Youth Villages Specialized Crisis Services staff provides assessment and evaluation of children and youth, up to age 18, who are experiencing a psychiatric emergency across the state of Tennessee.
